Wrestling team setting winning example

NBMS – Of all the school winter sports, its basketball that gets the greatest attention, but there are other sports out there during the cold months, and one school team is setting an example for others to follow.

The North Buncombe Middle School Wrestling Team completed a perfect 14-0 season in the French Broad Conference Regular Season this year. That’s right, 14-0, but that’s not all. The BlackHawks also finished a close second at the conference tournament.
The program now holds an extraordinary 50-6 record for the past four seasons, with top-three finishes in that time at the tournament, three Conference Championships in a row, and a three-year unbeaten streak at home. Many would say – “that’s incredible!”
Thirteen of 17 wrestlers that entered the tournament placed on Saturday, January 25th. Here are the results of the tournament:
