Weaverville – Area residents got down to free music and $5 beers at last Saturday’s Music on Main free concert, the third to be held in as many years. Patron sponsors, the businesses who contribute the most to the event’s funding, included Duke Energy and Weaverville Realty.
The first act was 5J Barrow, an act described on the town’s website at “a dynamic folk/rock inspired duo originally from NY.” The second group was a swing ensemble called Drayton & The Dreamboats, who performed a “well-crafted mix of swing tunes, Latin numbers and vocal ballads from the golden age of radio.”
The Phantom Playboys, a rockabilly group, closed down the evening’s festivities. Happy residents should thank the Weaverville Business Association for putting on this treat for the town. Here are a few pictures from the party.
