Police identify body found in parking lot

Woodfin – On Monday (March 11) a Buncombe County Deputy discovered anindividual unresponsive inside a vehicle and called for medical help. The vehicle and body was found between the iMarket and Ingles. At approximately 12:07 pm, officers of the Woodfin Police Department received a call of a subject down in the parking lot of Ingles, 499 Weaverville Rd. and responded.

Medical responders pronounced the man deceased shortly after the Woodfin officers arrived on the scene. The man has been identified as Adam Bennett Stockley, 54, of Marshall. According to Woodfin Police Chief Michael Dykes, “Mr. Stockley’s body is to be sent to Wake Forest Baptist Health Medical Center for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. However, foul play is not suspected at this time.”
