Weaverville – People have been complaining about issues trying to find a parking place in downtown Weaverville for years now. Who knew the problem could be solved with a little pandemic.
Parking spots were a dime a dozen in Weaverville’s Main Street business district last week after Buncombe County issued a “stay at home” order. Whether you wanted streetside parking or parking in the town’s clock parking area, you got to choose because plenty of spaces were there to be taken.
This development comes on the heels of the town taking steps at their last meeting to address issues with its parking in several ways, including rewriting the 1970s ordinance dealing with parking.
Business owners and workers, as well as the town leaders alike, hope to have the parking problem back soon.
