Weaverville – Four arrests were made in the week ending June 2, according to documents obtained from the Weaverville Police Department. All but a single charge were misdemeanors, the one felony charge being possession of a Schedule II substance.
In the early morning hours of Monday, May 27, Weaverville Police picked up Cetan Wanagi Merzlak, 25, along I-26 East’s exit 19 on-ramp for felony possession of a Schedule II drug and a misdemeanor charge of possessing drug paraphernalia. Merzlak’s current address is listed as 9399 NC 212 Highway in Marshall.
Several hours later, police responded to a trespassing call at Weaverville’s Big Lots, 130 Weaver Boulevard. The incident ended in the arrest of Michael Larry Shannon Schultz, 47, whose current address appears to be 254 Whittemore Branch Road, in Barnardsville.
Two more arrests were made the next day, May 28, by Weaverville Police.
Heather Lynn Norton, 28, was arrested at one in the morning for violating the conditions of her pretrial release agreement. Norton was stopped at Walmart, located at 25 Northridge Commons Parkway, Weaverville. She currently resides at 149 Onteora Boulevard in Asheville.
Also arrested at 1 am at Walmart, according to police records, was Asheville’s Eric Dustin Murphy, 30, who was detained on a misdemeanor charge of driving with a revoked license. He lives at 1 Westgate Road in Asheville.
