North Buncombe – A man has died at Reems Creek Falls and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death and is releasing few details at this time. The incident happened about 300 yards off Goldview Road near the rock quarry and asphalt plant.
The Tribune can confirm that Buncombe County Sheriff Quentin Miller was on the scene last night along with several deputies and French Broad Fire Department who was the initial responding department. The call came in a little after 10 pm on Tuesday night.
While details are few, Aaron Sarver with the sheriff’s department did say that there were others at the incident. According to information obtained by the Tribune, there were at least four people at the scene in their late 20s to early 30s. Investigators were still on the scene as of Wednesday morning. The Tribune has also learned that the body has been sent for an autopsy. This is an ongoing story so check back for updates.
