Church shares the love of candy

By Pam Hensley

Weaverville – Rain didn’t stop the excitement and fun at Brookstone Church’s Weaverville Campus on Halloween night. With an estimation of over 6,000 people attending, and over 20,000 pieces of candy given out, it looks like the night was a success.

Families attending the event could also purchase their families’ dinners from J.Lee’s Chicken Shack, Amazing Pizza Company, and Amelia’s Kitchen, who were kind enough to bring their food trucks for everyone to choose from, according to Alex Reed, the administrative assistant at Brookstone.
Reed also states that despite the bad weather, the decision to move everything indoors went smoothly because everyone served joyfully, and made the needed adjustments to have a great night. There were nearly 200 people from the church family serving and welcoming everyone.

There were several themed candy stations at the event, including a couple of pioneer women, a construction zone and of course, the always loved inflatables.
