Celebrating 90 Years

Weaverville – Jeane Stines, of Weaverville, recently celebrated her 80th birthday. Not alone, but with a birthday parade from her friends and family. “Ninety years ago, my sweet little mama gave birth to me at home in a small boxed house in the Bull Creek area of Madison County,” Stine told the Tribune. “I was her sixth and last child, all born at home. When mama went into labor, daddy rode his horse to Mars Hill to tell Dr. Willard Robinson to come quick. He got there in time and daddy gave him a bull calf for his services. I wonder if I’m worth that much ninety years later.” Jean was born in 1930, retired from AB Tech as Dental Hygine Chairman, is a member of Weaverville First Baptist Church, and resides in Hamburg Crossing
