Woodfin – A car overturned after hitting a rock wall on Elkwood Ave on Wednesday, July 24th around 9:45 am. Woodfin Police and Fire responded to the accident and the driver, who was reportedly uninjured, was taken to Mission Hospital by Buncombe County EMS.

According to the narrative on the police accident report filed by Woodfin Officer M.T. Buckner, Emily Treadway of Asheville was driving a 2001 Subaru and “stated she pulled out onto the road and then looked down at the passenger seat to make sure she had what she needed for work…the next thing she knew…[her car]…hit the rock wall and rolled over onto its top.” The car came to rest in the middle of Elkwood Ave, blocking the road and causing other drivers using the street to have to find an alternate route until it could be removed.

According to the accident report, the car sustained about $10,000 in repair costs and the rock wall owned by Karen Marie Wilson of Elkwood Ave suffered an estimated $2,000 in damages. A Facebook comment on a video of the crash by a Paul Jeffrey Treadway stated, “That’s Emily. She is okay.”
