Concord, NC  – The North Buncombe Blackhawks, a 16th seed, lost last night’s away playoff game against the number one seed Northwest Cabarrus Trojans by a score of 56-21. The playoff game was the first since 20 14.

After finishing the season 6-5, their best record since the 2014 season with 7-6,  the Hawks had to wait two weeks to find whether the record would be good enough to make the playoffs. It was, but, in the end, the Trojans, who are ranked 12th in the state, proved too much for North Buncombe team which is ranked 187th in the state.

The Trojans wil now play against the Tuscola Mountaineers on Friday, November 23 @ 7:30 pm while the Blackhawks will suit up on the basketball court on Saturday, Nov. 24 to face more Trojans. This time it will be the Trojans of West Brunswick as the Hawks start their basketball season.
