Anthony Wilde named Superintendent at Craggy Correctional Institution

Woodfin – The Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice has named Anthony Wilde as the new superintendent at Craggy Correctional Center in Woodfin. He replaces Marty Galloway, who retired on Jan. 1. Wilde, 49, had been the Assistant Superintendent of Custody/Operations at the facility since 2016.

A veteran to state government, Wilde began his career as a correctional officer in 1997. Over his years of service, he has held many different roles, including the specialized positions of the correctional officer who supervises the facility’s laundry operation and as a road squad officer. 

Wilde was promoted to lead correctional officer in 2004, to sergeant in 2006 and lieutenant in 2011. He also was assistant superintendent at the former Buncombe Correctional Center, and after the facility closed he served as a captain at the new Craggy Correctional Center. 

Wilde is a 1988 graduate of Madison High School. He also completed First Steps supervisor training and graduated from Peak Performance leadership and management training in 2013.
