Annual Chilly Challenge Coming Up

Weaverville – It’s that time again. Lace up your running shoes, grab your winter hats and sign up for the 7th annual Chilly Challenge 8K Race and 1-Mile Fun Run and Chili Cook-off in Weaverville, NC! North Buncombe Middle School PTO is once again bringing the popular annual event to the area. The event will be held at 51 N. Buncombe School Road, Weaverville NC (NBMS school campus) on Saturday, February 23 at 10 am.

Runners will enjoy a brisk scenic run and post-race celebration that includes a tasty chili lunch, live music, and fantastic prizes. For runners and walkers of all ages, this event is hosted by the North Buncombe Middle School PTO and presented by TS Orthodontics to raise funding for the school.

The chip-timed 8K race takes place on a rolling hills course with start and finish on the school campus. Sign up by February 15th and save! The 8K entry fees are $35 for adults and $20 for students. The 8K fees increase $5 on February 16th. The 1-Mile Fun Run entry fee is $15. Runners will warm up after the race with a Luella’s Bar-B-Que Chili lunch including cornbread and fixings. Free t-shirts are guaranteed for all participants who register by January 31st. Spectators can purchase a chili lunch for $5.
